KAISER PORCELAIN - For the enchanted moments in life ...

Welcome at Kaiser Porzellan

... in the world of precious porcelain which we have manufactured ever since 1872 in Germany and which will continue to be exlusively made in our German production in Bad Staffelstein, Frankonia, a Bavarian region in the lovely valley of the Main river.

The tradition of  porcelain, the "White Gold" in Europe is not as old as one could think as porcelain has been our companion for ever in our daily life and often reminds us of very special moments in life: may it be the wedding party with the perfectly laid table, the cosy Christmas family convention or just an evening with good friends at home. Aren't these memories as special and durable as porcelain is?

Its origin goes back to a time period around 1100 b.C. in China and porcelain had its hay-days during the Ming dinasty between the 14th and 16th century. It came to Europe during the 13th century by famous Marco Polo, expedition leader and adventurer and was as expensive as gold those days.

It was in 1709 when the formula for porcelain was "invented" in Europe by Johann Friedrich Böttger, chemist at the court of King August the Strong. Originally he was supposed to find the formula for gold to improve the courts financial account, but he invented the "White Gold" and gave birth to a totally new industry.

Production had an artcraft-like structure and has it still today, it did not change basically. Artistic taste and hands influenced the development of the Porcelain Industry in Europe like in no other industry. During the second half of the 19th century the industry prospered and at the beginning of 20th century some 60,000 people were imployed in this industry in Germany.

Since this period Kaiser Porzellan has become a continuous reference for the one who loves fine and delicate porcelain. In Germany there should not be a household in which not at least one of our products can be found: whether this my be a bisque vase, a figurine or a piece of a dining set.

But not only in Germany Kaiser Porzellan has gained the reputation of being a sinonym for fine porcelain: kings of this world, important personalities in politics, sport or movies have become dedicated to our porcelain and with some pride one could say: Kaiser Porzellan is V.I.P. ... very important porcelain ... for the enchanted moments in life.

Is'nt our life far to short to accept that a single moment is not an enchanted moment?
